Editorial standards

• Every pick has a specific best-for, a concrete strength, a real limitation, and pricing with the date we checked it.
• Paid placements are always labeled and never change verdicts or order within a list.
• Affiliate links are disclosed on every page. A tool doesn't need an affiliate program to be listed.
• We never invent pricing or features. Every claim is cited in sources.md.

Methodology

Honest disclosure: the current verdicts come from desk research of official pricing pages, docs and changelogs, plus reputable coverage, checked on 2026-10-16. They are not based on hands-on testing yet. Hands-on testing will be marked per tool once it's done.

We rank on fit for the use case, value at the entry paid tier, limits that bite in real use, and how trustworthy the vendor's docs are. We re-check pricing at least monthly.

Why this name

Agent is the AI side: the agents and AI tools we put up against real jobs. Stack is the trades side: the tools a shop, a truck or a crew actually runs on. Rankings is the honest part: one top pick per job, with the price and the catch, and no way to buy your way up.
